Just in case you didn`t know, this year Bandai is celebrating the `30th Anninversary of Gunpla`. Yes, that`s right, that means that Bandai have been producing Gundam Model Kits for thirty years! (Has it really been that long already, it really doesn't feel like it - does it?).
You might be forgiven for thinking that the Bandai executives would celebrate this momentous occasion by opening another bottle of Suntory whiskey... But no, what they did was to produce some exciting re-releases of some of their most popular kits and and release some new ones too!
Today we are focussing on some of the Master Grade kits which have been re-released to mark this momentous occasion. What makes these particular kits so special is that they now come with some additional body (armour) parts, (particularly the legs and arms) moulded in clear plastic. This means you can either build the kit with all it`s original coloured parts, or with the clear parts. Having these clear parts fitted allows you to see the great inner detail of the kit`s underlying chassis.
If you want to take a look at some of these fantastic 30th Anniversary kits with clear armour parts, then please click the logo above or click here to take a look. Bandai - we salute you!!

We regularly get emails asking us lots of questions about the Gundam model kits that feature on our site. These questions are usually things like: How big are they? How do you build them? Do you need glue? Do they need painting? How difficult are they to assemble?
Well you may not know it, but we already have a wealth of information which aims to answer the above questions and more, in our Gundam Model Guide. So if you think you need to know more then please check out the article. You never know it could just contain the info you`re looking for and ultimately allow you to have the confidence to treat yourself to that new Gundam model kit you`ve always been looking for!

As promised, we have just received our stock of Kotobukiya`s first 1/35th scale model kit from Border Break - a networked arcade game by SEGA which features up to twenty battling mechs. 1/35 Border Break Cougar Type-I Although these new kits are 1/35 scale, we would say that when finished they are similar size and complexity to a typical 1/100 scale Bandai Master Grade Gundam kit. They also feature the familiar assembly method of snap together coloured plastics, so no glue or paint required. However, we would suggest that you use a .05mm Pigment Marker - this will bring out the finer panel details to good effect. We will be adding to the `Border Break` range of kits as soon as they are available.

Just a quick update to let you know that we will shortly have stock of the the stunning 1/35th scale model of the `Cougar Type 1` mech from the `Border Break` arcade game by SEGA. The game is currently going down a storm in the Arcades around the World and features up to two teams of ten mechs all battling it out accross varied landscapes. Each mech in the game can have numerous upgrades, meaning a pretty endless variety if you have cash and will to keep playing. Kotobukiya have taken the bold decision to bring out a range of kits from this game and this is their first release. Take a peek at the images and hopefully you will agree with us that this first kit looks stunning and seems to offer a massive level of poseability. The Gundam Mad team can`t wait for it`s arrival and we will certainly bring you more news very soon!

Phew! Yesterday our drive down and stand setup went really smoothly and we managed to get settled into he hotel and then hit the bar at a respectably early time. We have just finished up after our first full on day at the event - which has been very, very busy and rather hot! What has been really great is to hear so many customers thanking us for coming back to this show after we unforturtunately missed the last one - and to be sure, it certainly feels great to be back! We have (or should that be had?) a massive selection of new Gundam Model kits that were well received by those that managed to prize them from our sweaty palms... Anyway, time to go for some well deserved food after our long day manning the Gundam Mad stand. We'll be back for more Gundam goodness in the morning!

Attention puny humans! I have taken control of this website once again as I need to push forward with my plans for domination of your insignificant planet. How will I do this you might ask? Simple, my loyal and fearless frog army is secretly hidden deep in the bowels of the Gundam Mad headquarters - just waiting for the time that they can be despatched accross the planet in those shipments of Gundam model kits, that you humans seem to covet so much! To make this easier, I have secretly hacked into the Gundam Mad website and reduced the prices of all the Keroro model kits by two pounds each - which equates to a 33 percent reduction. This means that the cannon fodder regular troops are priced at £4.99 and £5.99 for my more superior warriors. There has never been a better time to allow me to rule the World collect fine specimens of the greatest army in the Universe. Click here to cast your gaze over my illustrious army. Ribet! Surrender to the might of Keron! Muhahahahah! Ribet!

Seems that there are some teething problems with Paypal payments via our payment processor, `RBS Worldpay`. It seems that payments made by people who are not `verified` by Paypal, will have their payment flagged up with a security warning which could result in their order being delayed or even cancelled. RBS Worldpay assure us that they are working hard to resolve this issue. However we would recommend that in the meantime you only pay us by Paypal if your are a `verified` user. (Please note that this issue does not affect payments made by any other method). We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause our customers.

We know that we have many fellow Gundam fans who use images from our site for their own personal websites, fansites and forums and we want to continue to support this.
However, as you may have noticed, our images for new products are now watermarked. (Infact they are also invisibly digitally signed). This watermarking and signing has been done in such as way as to have a minimal impact on the quality of the images.
These changes will mean that if you wish to use any images from our site for your own personal use you will need to contact us and we'll happily supply you with non-watermarked images.
These steps have been taken as we have found that other retailers have been using our images without our permission. It takes us considerable time and effort to scan and prepare images for each product in order to offer you the best experience possible when browsing our site. We object to these being used without our permission. We thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

After some discussions with the people at Hotmail it seems that the issues with some emails from us to their domains being rejected has now been resolved. It was indeed due to recent changes in the way their spam filter works.
|
|
|
We have recently noticed that some emails to hotmail.com or hotmail.co.uk addresses are being 'bounced' due to recent changes to the Hotmail spam filter. What does this mean for our customers? Our website sends out automated emails as each order progresses through to shipping. If you registered a hotmail address with us at the time of ordering then there is a possibility that you may not receive these important order update emails. Until this issue is resolved we would suggest that customers avoid using a hotmail address on our site for the purposes of order tracking. Regardless, all customers can still use our online order tracking to view the status of any order. We're sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you.

Gundam Mad would like to thank all our customers for their continued support during 2007. Your valued comments and feedback help us to provide the service you've been telling us that you want, in order to fulfill your Gunpla and Plamo needs. With this in mind we look forward to being of service to you in 2008 and beyond.
Please note that our last shipping date before Christmas day is Monday 24th December 2007 - any orders shipped on this date will not arrive in time for Christmas day! We are closed on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th of December 2007 and will resume shipping on Thursday 27th December 2007. We'll then be shipping right up to and including Monday 31st December 2007. We will re-open after the New Year celebrations on Wednesday 2nd January 2008. On any dates that we are closed we will still be accepting orders, although the status of any order received many not change and it's unlikely we'll be responding to email enquiries. However, after a much needed break we will be back in 2008 with more of the stuff you want and with an important announcement to make! Merry Christmas from the Gundam Mad team.

|
Following the arrival last week of the 100th Master Grade release of the fantastic Turn A Gundam and the addition of the 1/144 HG Zock, we have four new kits available in time for Christmas.
Due to popular demand we have expanded our classic Zaku range with the addition of the original 1/100 MG Zaku I and the highly customised 1/100 MG Shin Matsunaga variant of the Zaku II.
To add to these we also have the 1/100 MG Gogg, which is a huge underwater mobile suit design from the Universal Century.
And finally last but by no means least we have a treat for all the Patlabor fans out there, in the form of the 1/35 MG Patlabor Ingram 'special set'. Offering the option of building the kit as any one of the three Ingram types and with working LED police lights, this is the best Patlabor kit so far in our opinion.

Simply enter your email address into the 'Notify Me' field for the out of stock item you wish to be informed about and when that item comes back into stock you will automatically receive an email from us. Available on the site now are two new additions to our Perfect Grade Gunpla range of kits:
The brand new 1/60 PG W-Gundam Zero Custom-Pearl Coated version features a pearlescent paint finish and some semi-translucent parts thus making this an absolutely stunning update to the massively popular PG Wing Zero Custom.
Although not a very new Perfect Grade plamo kit, the 1/60 PG MS-06S Char`s Zaku-II is still an excellent kit. Featuring the usual high part count and massive levels of detail.
A must have for `old school` Gundam fans.
|
|
|
Just when you thought you had a complete collection of every 1/60 scale kit you`d ever want, we come along with what are probably the best 1/60 scale, non perfect grade Gunpla available - we give you the `Glorious Series`:
Coming in a box that is bigger than most Perfect Grade kits is the 1/60 Glorious Series MS-09R Rick Dom. This 400 part monster gunpla kit features 21 LED`s that light up the mono eye, engines and other key parts.
Followed closely by the 1/60 Glorious Series Gouf MS-07B which also comes in a huge box, has around 600 parts and has LED`s that light up key parts.
Standing at over a foot tall, both these kits make rather impressive centrepieces to any collection. Mark my words when I say that pictures do not do justice to these kits!
|
|
|
Today we add two rather nice Gunpla kits to our portfolio:
The 1/100 MG MS-09RS Char`s Rick-Dom is rather unusual as it never actually appeared in any Gundam film or OVA, but in only the original Gundam manga. However, this does not detract from it`s worth as another excellent Master Grade Gundam plamo kit.
For you SD Gundam fans we have the SD Verde Buster Gundam which is one of the best standard release SD kits we have seen so far due to it`s unique head mounted visor and large array of weaponry.
|
|
|
We now have available two brilliant new Master Grade gunpla kits from the Seed Destiny Era: The 1/100 MG Destiny Gundam which as well as featuring the usual high quality we'd expect from a Master Grade gunpla kit also comes with unpainted scale figures of Shinn Asuka and Stella Loussier. The 1/100 MG Destiny Gundam Extreme Burst Mode not only comes with unpainted scale figures of Shinn Asuka and Kira Yamato but importinatly includes special effect parts for the wings and weapons and a metallic finish to some of the parts. Please note that this kit is a 'Special Edition' and we have been told that Bandai does not plan to produce any more in the near future. So snap one up while you can!
|
|
|
Bandai have hit back with version two re-releases of the classic `Zaku` Zeon mobile suit:
Firstly we have the standard issue 1/100 MG MS-06J Zaku II as seen in so many Gundam series.
Then we have 1/100 MG MS-06S Char`s Zaku II which is the all red customised version of the ZakuII piloted by Char Aznable.
Both these version 2 re-releases include an improved joint system allowing a greater range of more realistic movement, easier assembly and extra accessories. This makes two great Gunpla kits even better!
|
|
|
Just when you thought you had all the 1/144 scale Gunpla kits you could ever need, along we come with another couple of nice Gundam plamo kits:
The 1/144 HGUC RX-78 Gundam NT-1 code named `Alex` which defeated the Kampfer mobile suit on the space colony of Libot in `Gundam 0080:War in the Pocket`.
The 1/144 HG Ginn Type High-Maneuver2 is another variant of the commodity Ginn mobile suit as featured heavily in the `Gundam Seed Destiny` series.
|
|
|
Just what you HGUC fans have been waiting for, two new re-incarnations of the classic RX-78-2 from the spin off `Gundam Side Stories` series. Read on for more information!
As piloted by Ruce Cassel, the 1/100 MG RX-78-4 Gundam G04 features a huge `Mega beam launcher`.
Or if you`re looking for a slightly different weapon then the 1/100 MG RX-78-5 Gundam G05 features a rather large gatling gun.
The choice is yours, but either way you will not be disappointed by either of these Master grade gunpla kits.
|
|
|
We have two new 1/100 Master Grade kits added to the site today - one of which is rather special:
At the Amecon 07 show we ran several show only `specials`. One of those was the awesome re-release (in version 2 guise) of the 1/100 MG MS-14S Char`s Gelgoog which we offered at the reduced price of £34.99 rather than the usual price of £40.
As a result of feedback from customers who couldn`t make it to the show, but wanted this kit, we have decided to continue this offer via the website for a limited period.
We hope that this will allow those who missed out at the show to purchase this brilliant kit.
Also, from the same Gundam timeline we now have stocks of the 1/100 MG RX-78-2 Gundam OYW 0079 which offers another excellent re-work of the classic RX-78-2 Gundam.
|
|
|
After a brilliant weekend at Amecon 07 the Gundam Mad Team are back home, feeling tired but very happy. Thanks have to go to organisers for making this one of the best events we have attended so far! (Our personal thanks have to go to `Tom - King of Dealerland` for looking after us with his (un)usual flair)....
We would also like to say `thanks` to all the customers who took the time to drop by our stand and talk with us - it is always great to hear your feedback.
Now that we suitably rested we will be working hard to bring you even more kits and product ranges in the near future - so stay tuned, it`s going to be a exciting ride!

Today we add a couple of interesting new 1/144 Gunpla kits to the site:
The rather evil looking 1/144 HG Raider Gundam which features a retractable spiked mace.
And the `old school` 1/144 RGM-79 Powered GM which fills a much needed gap in the HGUC lineup.
More new kits soon!

|
|
|
We bring you some more new Gundam goodies, so please read on:
The much improved 1/100 MG RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (Ver.2) is a rework of the original kit will more flexibility in it`s joints and lots more detail. A superb kit that is now even better!
Pink Gundams have never looked as good as the ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner Zaku Warrior as piloted by Lunamaria Hawke which offers a good array of weaponry and detail for you Seed Destiny fans.
Looking for some cheap Gundam? Then look no further than the Mobile Suit Gundam 4 Ultimate Operations Plus which are small scale pre-built Gundams which come randomly packed from a selection of five possible models.

We're pleased to announce the winners of our 'Mecha themed artwork' competition which we ran to coincide with the London Expo event which we attended last weekend.

Day 3
After a second late night (Japanese food and beer this time) we managed to squeeze in 5 hours sleep before taking over the dealer room with Fred's bazooka, laser rifle and axe (yes I think we actually lost the plot!). The weapons caused quite a stir and we were forced to take a number of pictures as evidence of the chaos, some dealers even started pointing the bazooka at each other! During the last few hours we brought the madness to a climax with some great AMV`s, including many by `VicBond` (Victor Boruta). We still had a full stand when the dealer room closed (I think we need some chairs next time!). We would like to say a big Thank You to all of our customers, everyone who called in to say hi and Tom ('King of the dealer room') for making sure everything ran smoothly.
We have over 150 pictures from the weekend and will try to get as many as possible on the site over the next couple of weeks.
Yet more to come soon... but we need a rest
|
|
|
Day 2
Spending the first night in our Hotel bar writing news, working on camera shots and playing Magic until the early hours meant we had a slow start to the day (we may have had a couple of drinks too!). `Fred` (our 12th scale Char`s Zaku II), however became the centre of attention for many cosplayers. After having a look at the pictures we decided that Fred has a pose and expression for any occasion (it's a bit strange to be honest).
More snapshots... on the right we have a ZGok finished to a high standard by Alun (SFM:uk). `Fred` was very pleased to find the time in his photographic schedule to meet a new friend as seen on the left.
More news soon... beef chilli ramen please
|
|
|
Day 1
Well we made it... just. After delaying the dealer room doors by some 15 minutes (sorry.. and thanks Tom) we managed to fit many of our kits on the bursting Gundam Mad stand. It's now official, we need a much bigger stand as we underestimated the size of our product range!!! We can only hope our stock lasts...
It has been a fantastic first day and we finally released our surprise on our Gundam crazy fans and customers. We have taken lots of piccies and include a couple with this article for you to view.
The picture on the left shows 'Fred' (1/12 Char's Zaku - one of only a thousand produced by Bandai Japan). The picture on the right shows the front tables of the stand after the latest attack in the dealer room...
More news soon... now where's the beer?

Well it seems that our latest shipment is still stuck with customs in the UK - we're still working hard to get the shipment released.
More news as we have it....
|
|
|
Looks like our latest shipment of kits is held up in customs in the UK. It`s now likely that this will delay their arrival with us by around a week or so....
We`ll keep you posted with any news as soon as we have any.
|
|
|
Our latest shipment is due imminently. This shipment includes a restock of most kits, including Perfect, Master and High Grade.
More importantly, we'll be adding some new kits to our portfolio.
Keep watching the site over the coming week for updates.
|
|
|
That`s right - cheaper shipping rates!
We still have shipping for small items starting at just £3.
The biggest savings are for orders which weigh 2Kg and over - we have now capped the cost to just £10, which means that people placing orders over 2Kg are going to be saving at least £2 on shipping costs and orders of 5Kg will save £3.30! So the bigger the order, the more you save.
We hope that this will now make it even easier to use us for all your Gundam modelling needs.
For full information on our new shipping costs please see our `Terms and Conditions` page.

We recently received news that some of the 100th scale Wing kits are now discontinued.
This means that Bandai don't plan to produce any more of these kits. That`s a real shame as we know that there are lots of Wing fans out there. Some of these kits are now out of stock and we are searching very hard to secure any stocks that we can.
We`ll update you with any further news as soon as we have it.
The Wing kits that have been discontinued are:
1/100 HG Gundam Nataku
1/100 HG Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom
1/100 HG Deathscythe Hell
1/100 Tallgeese III

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve and expand the service we provide to our customers, we will be making changes to the website over the next few days. This work should not affect any order processing so please feel free to place orders as usual.
One of the biggest changes you will see is that we will be moving over to a new card processing agent, Worldpay. This should smooth the payment process for our customers and allow us to incorporate more accurate stock control systems into the site.
You can continue to pay us through Nochex as usual until we move fully to the new system.
Another feature which regular customers may already have noticed, is a change to the cart system. Your shopping cart now shows shipping costs to the UK calculated in real time as you shop.
Finally I want to take this opportunity to thank our customers who take the time to give us feedback and suggestions.
If you have any ideas on how we can improve our service, just drop us an email. We do listen and we value all your comments.

Well to kick off 2005 the team at GundamMad have brought you another great offer.
With every order over £10 (including shipping) we’ll give you a free pack of MS.WAR gaming cards.
MS/WAR is a CCG (collectible card game) based in the Wing universe and pits OZ corps against the Gundam pilots. This is a great game and sadly the original starter decks and rules are no longer available. However the GundamMad team are working hard (err, I mean playing lots of games) to adapt the original rules so that you can enjoy this great game yourselves. We’ll offer the booster packs for sale as well so that fans can add to their collection and build that killer deck.
Expect to see the revised rules and individual booster packs on the website very soon.

Bandai have
announced the imminent release of a new 1/200 scale series of collectable
Gundam models. The range will be known as "High Complete Model
Progressive".
Some of you may be familiar with the existing range of 1/144 scale MSIA
models. The new HCM Pro versions promise higher build quality and
more detail, but in an even smaller package. For example, the new
RX78-2 is only 8.5cms tall.
These models are pre-built and come with an array of accessories and weapons so you can customise the look yourself.
Watch for these new models coming to Gundam Mad soon, so you don't miss out on your chance to start collecting this great new range.
